Steven W. DeLateur is a founding partner

well as intellectual property and civil
litigation. Before establishing McDermott &

Mr. DeLateur practiced business, real estate and international law in
Indian
Wells. Prior to moving to California, he was with the
Export-Import Bank of the
United States (EXIM Bank) in
Washington, D.C., where he counseled
businesses on
export finance and worked with lenders and exporters
in arranging
debt reschedulings
and
collections of defaulted obligations. In addition, he analyzed
the creditworthiness
of overseas obligors and recommended credit limits
and other terms of hundreds of
export
credit insurance policies and guarantees. Mr.
DeLateur
specializes in obtaining development
entitlements for large real estate projects
involving land
use laws and
regulations of local,
state and federal agencies, including the Endangered
Species Act
Drawing on his experience
in
export finance, Mr.
DeLateur advises clients on structuring export transactions and
assists
them with obtaining U.S.
government loans, credits and guarantees through EXIM Bank. He
speaks frequently on
strategies to reduce the risk
associated with export sales of goods and
services to emerging
markets. Mr. DeLateur received his Bachelor of Science degree
Cum
Laude from the
University of Arizona and his Master of Business Administration degree
from
the American Graduate School of
International Management. Mr. DeLateur graduated from
George Mason University School of Law
in Arlington, Virginia, and studied international law
in Paris,
France. He is a member of the bars of California, Virginia
